Project Overview

As part of my ongoing freelance and agency work through WebService Africa, I’ve developed responsive websites for multiple brands across fashion, media, education, and creative industries. These websites are designed to be fast, mobile-friendly, and tailored to each client’s brand identity — often balancing visual storytelling with performance and usability.

My approach blends technical execution with client collaboration, helping non-technical stakeholders go live with confidence while ensuring long-term maintainability.

Project Lifecycle

  1. Discovery & Brand Alignment
    • Held discovery calls to understand business goals, target audience, and visual direction.
    • Reviewed brand assets and translated them into usable design systems and layout grids.
  2. Design & Planning
    • Created mockups using Figma, Elementor or directly from WordPress.
    • Advised clients on best practices for layout, typography, and calls-to-action.
  3. Development & Integration
    • Built responsive websites using:
      • HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP
      • WordPress with Elementor for user-friendly editing
    • Integrated features like:
      • Contact forms and lead generation tools
      • Custom post types and reusable blocks
      • Secure email SMTP system for communications
  4. Testing & Launch
    • Performed cross-browser and mobile responsiveness checks.
    • Set up hosting, SSL, domain configuration, and basic analytics.

My Role as Developer

In each website project, I was responsible for:
  • Full website setup and build (design to deployment).
  • Advising on structure, user experience, and SEO basics.
  • Managing client feedback and iterations.
  • Ensuring fast load times and optimized mobile layouts.
  • Training clients on how to manage content post-launch.
